These sweet earrings are made from vintage milagro folk charms, each in the shape of a praying lady. Milagros are religious folk charms that are traditionally used for healing purposes and as votive offerings in Mexico, the southern United States, other areas of Latin America, and parts of the Iberian peninsula. They come in many different shapes and are frequently attached to altars, shrines, and sacred objects found in places of worship, and they are often purchased in churches and cathedrals, or from street vendors. These particular milagro charms came from a memorable trip to Austin, Texas! In Spanish, the word milagro means miracle or surprise.
Please check out my shop for more milagro charm earrings and necklaces in other shapes and sizes!
I've added three pearl beads to each earring. The lever-back ear wires are Sterling silver.
